Focus Clock

Privacy Policy

Focus Clock does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account to create, no analytics, and no advertising.

The app has no access to the internet.

This is not a policy commitment that could quietly change in a future build — it is a property of how the app is assembled. Focus Clock does not request the Android INTERNET permission, so the operating system itself prevents it from making a network request of any kind. All 29 typefaces are built into the app rather than downloaded, which is what makes that possible.

What the app stores

One thing: your settings — the typeface, weight, size, letter spacing, colour palette, clock format, and focus and break durations you have chosen. They are written to your device's private app storage under a single key, study_clock.settings.v1.

This data never leaves your phone. It is not readable by other apps, it is not sent anywhere, and it cannot be seen by the developer. Uninstalling Focus Clock deletes it. Clearing the app's storage in Android Settings resets it to defaults.

What the app does not do

Permissions

Focus Clock requests no Android runtime permissions. The only entry in its manifest is one Android adds automatically to every app so the system can deliver internal messages to it; it grants no access to your data or hardware.

The "keep screen awake" setting works through a display flag on the app's own window, which requires no permission and has no effect outside the app.

Verifiable facts

Everything above can be checked against the published app rather than taken on trust. The details below are readable from the release build using standard Android tooling.

Google Play

Focus Clock is distributed through Google Play. Google collects its own information about app installs, and may collect crash data, under Google's Privacy Policy. That collection is Google's and happens independently of the app — Focus Clock neither initiates it nor receives the results.

Children

Focus Clock is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data whatsoever, it collects nothing from children either, and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR by collecting nothing at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it does with data, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the effective date at the top will change. Any version that added network access would be described here plainly.
